email sent May 24

Welcome to Day Camp!
Your daughter is registered for the Under the Big Top Day Camp in Westminster, CO June 15 – June 19 from 9am – 3:30pm.
I do have to start out with an apology.  When I added my daughter, who is a PA for this camp, I realized that the system did not send anything to the parents stating that they have completed the form and that they daughter was registered. This is something that I will have to fix for next year, or at least be more mindful of.  With the changes on how day camps are run now this was an error on my part.  I am willing to work with anyone on making sure the payment and form due to us are still received within a reasonable time frame.  All of the details ARE on our site and have been since registration opened in January.
We are just a few weeks away from our Under the Big Top day camp in Westminster.  Payments and paperwork are still due by June 1st in order for your camper to attend.  By taking care of everything beforehand it allows our first day of camp to focus on meeting you and welcoming your camper(s) to camp.  If you have not completed them, please do so ASAP and mail to our PO Box.  If you are paying by credit card, you should have received an invoice from Flint.  I was having some issues with the system after cookie sales, but it seems to be up and running now.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
Please make sure everyone coming to camp is a registered Girl Scout, except Tagalongs, by calling the Girl Scouts of Colorado office at 303-778-8774
The Cadette Girl Scouts who have planned this camp have decided to make lunch and snack all 5 days of camp.  Your child will not need any food for camp.  Along with this we are going to supply paper plates and plastic ware as we are trying to get rid of all of our excess supplies.  Your camper will need a refillable water bottle on a daily basis though.
Other things your camper should have are: bag/backpack, sunscreen, hat/bandana, extra clothes, jacket/hoodie/sweatshirt, rain poncho or jacket.  Please NO umbrellas.  Please make sure a name is on everything.
Medications may not be administered at camp.  If possible, please take care of at home before or after camp.  We do have a first aider and a first aid kit that is fully stocked.  On the Medication Permission form please note things we can give if needed while at camp like sunscreen, Tylenol, Motrin, etc.
Campers are expected to have covered shoulders and wear closed toed shoes.  We never know what to expect with the weather.  Having covered shoulders protects your camper from the sun and keeps them warmer if the weather is cool. We have a variety of activities and closed toed shoes protect your camper from injuries or worse injuries.
Please understand that our volunteers are not responsible for watching your camper on the playground equipment at the park.  It is a safety issue and so ALL campers must be supervised by their parent/guardian on the park playground equipment.  Campers are not allowed on the equipment during camp hours.
Campers may start the check in process with their unit leaders around 8:30am daily and join the PA’s for our morning song circle at 8:45am.  Campers need to be picked up by 3:45pm daily.  There is not a lot of parking.  Please carpool if possible, otherwise, please be patient and respectful of each other in the parking lot.  Safety is our main priority.
Volunteers, Program Aides and Interns should arrive around 7:45am Mon – Fri to help set up.
We are still in need of some adult volunteers and program aides for camp.  There is a wait list for Program Aide Interns. We still have room for campers entering KG – 6th grade for the 2015-16 school year.  Some of our regular volunteers are unable to attend this year so we are in need of help to make camp successful.  Please contact Poppy if you are interested, even if just for a day.
Adult health form, Girl health form and Medication permission are from the GSCO website.  I only have links to them on the site above.  If you have problems with them, you can go to the GSCO website.
We will not have any forms on hand at camp.  I have attached them to this email if you are having problems opening them.  We need all forms for all campers, PA’s, PAI’s, Tagalong and adult volunteers.  I am also attaching the flier for you to share.
Please contact Poppy if you have any other questions or concerns.  I am sure I missed something of forgot something.

Thank you,

Troop 52569 Cadettes and Poppy
